A Fortifying Drink From The Past
6 Answers
Greetings - and happy new year to one and all.
We were speaking to a 75-year-old friend here in Sussex and she mentioned a drink which she likened the taste to Ovaltine / Horlicks and which came in block form. It had a name something like 'Merry' or 'Happy' and she last remembers it available at a chemist rather than a food shop / supermarket
My OH and I (both 60) cannot recall anything like this from our youth and wondered if anyone here might. Point to note we are not Sussex 'locals' and some things here have different names to what we are used to. I won't tell you what they call iced buns!!!
