Judy Dench Hair
11 Answers
Im thinking of buying a bottle of something to fling on my hair but am way out of touch with such things. I saw photos of Judy Dench at the recent awards and would really like my hair that colour..sort of silver white. I have my hair the same style as hers..short, choppy and a bit messy..and mine is pretty white/grey at the front but gradually goes a dirty ash blonde towards the back and generally I feel it looks dull and drab.
Anyone any ideas on what make and colour I should get? I don't want to go any sort of blonde that has colour in it but would like it to look a natural silver white.
And I don't want to have it done at the hairdressers, can't stand the places.
Thanks.

Good luck I hope you get what you want, nothing like a new hairstyle to boost your ego.

This isn't really my subject area but I'll offer 2 links.
First, for people who might be better able to answer if they could see what Judi Dench looked like at the BAFTAs:

Second, a link where you can click on each of the products to see the colour. (If you know the name of the colour you're seeking, it might be easier to find it in the shops):

If you wait long enough your hair will go that way naturally, mine did! You could try shampoos for silver/white hair I use Aveda's Blue Malva on mine and it really brings out the colour, there are other specialist shampoos for hair like ours try them before you start to dye as once you start you have to keep it up
Dee, I have the style, had it like this for ages, it's the colour I'm after. Wondered if anyone here does their own and could recommend a make and colour to give me Judys hair. You know what it's like sometimes, you wake up one morning and just know you've got to do something with it..
Thanks for those links Chris. I've still not learnt how to do them on my iPad despite many, many helpful hints :(

Nungate, I've been hoping it would do it by itself but I think I'm going to have to give it a helping hand. I used to do it blond but stopped about eight or nine years go hoping it would go nice and white on its own. It's so short I really don't mind having to do it regularly like I used to.
Psybbo, if you find a solution to our problem, please let me know :)

I always dyed mine, I started to go grey at 19! Then I got fed up with all the hassle (and expense - always had it done professionally) so last year I let my hair grow quite long and then I had it cut really short (a la Judy Dench) at the time I wasn't sure whether to dye it again or leave au naturel so I called my husband to the hairdresser and got his opinion he liked it a lot, our daughter hated it - still does I think. I haven't been tempted to go back to dyeing but a bit like Helen Mirren I want a mad bit and am currently toying with the idea of an electric blue streak right at the front - daughter will hate that even more!!
