Male Toilet Etiquette

Just a thought I had after paying a visit to the gents toilet at work concerning the workings of the minds of my fellow man.

We have 3 urinals which are relatively close together so that if you are alongside one another your elbows can clash during the course of things. There are also 2 cubicles next to these.

This leads to a conscious/sub-conscious decision on where to position yourself if the urinals/cubicles are empty or occupied when you first enter the toilet.

What kind of person goes straight to the middle urinal if they are empty? Confident? Nothing to be embarrassed about if anyone else comes in and has to stand alongside?

What if they go to the left or right when it’s empty? Something to hide or just considerate? Does choosing left instead of right indicate something about their psyche?

There are those who go straight to a cubicle even if there is only one person at the urinal shamelessly leaving the door open while they stand there taking a number one.

You may not have a thought about this as long as they wash their hands afterwards.

Maybe I shouldn’t be thinking about this to this degree.

// What kind of person goes straight to the middle urinal if they are empty? // Confrontational. Agressive. // What if they go to the left or right when it’s empty? // Normal. // There are those who go straight to a cubicle even if there is only one person at the urinal shamelessly leaving the door open while they stand there taking a number one. // Weird.

I'm left handed so would choose the left hand urinal.

Maybe I shouldn’t be thinking about this to this degree.

I agree.
Is being a male always so complicated?
I simply try not to pee on fellow humans.
Im abidextrous so Id just use the cubicle splashing up round the walls
This ever occurred to anyone - someone uses the wash room / toilet then goes to wash their hands. They turn on the water spreading their germs on the faucet. For all you know they might have gotten excrement on their hands. Someone after them then uses the faucet and then gets the previous user germs on their hand. Yucky!

What possible difference does this make???

I usually go in, and use a urinal......... Life too short to extemporise about such banalities, after all it's just another bodily function, and not worth wasting my thinking time over.
No worries society, one hand washes the other.

Does our much loved and admired distance runner have his own Farah faucet?
As Nibble says life's too short.I can honestly say I have never given it a thought as to which one I should use to point percy at the porcelain.
After washing your hand you then close the 'contaminated' faucet. Is your hand germs-free? You then after decide to have a fag or eat lunch or stick a piece of gum in you mouth....

I did mention earlier I have an over-active imagination. lol

The nearest. Or the one that has bog paper still on the roll,if that isn't the nearest.

Is there any other thinking, conscious or unconscious involved? Can't think there is or could be.

With the greatest of respect capt kirk..... How much time would one have on their hands to study this issue??
The only thing that concerns me is splash back (not my own!)
^^^^ nothing worse than someone else's splash back.
"What kind of person goes straight to the middle urinal if they are all empty?"

If regularly, a pervert. If occassionally someone who wants a change and will probably regret it.

"What if they go to the left or right when it’s empty?"

Someone normal who who wants more privacy than a public urinal gives and has to put up with the best they can get.

Not met that one. I'd guess a Captin Kirk maybe ?
I've just been in the kitchen looking at the splash back behind the cooker and it got me wondering...........
I always go to the cubicle - no splashback or penis envy. But I do close the door.
Penis envy.
Its a very strange male issue isnt it, in a totally non homosexual way, men to do observe other men. Weird!
