Dog Biscuits-Feeder
5 Answers
brought some dog feeder biscuits from my local garden centre yesterday and put them in my dogs plastic container to save for her mealtimes she had a few to eat last night but when i came to make up her food today the feeder was crawling with some kind of beetle i immediately threw the mixer away but what i want to know is what kind of beetle are they and will they harm my dog or will her stomach acids kill the beetles needless to say i will be paying a visit to my garden centre tomorrow-do you think i should use a worming supplement as well just to be sure?

Indeed boxtop. The garden centre may not have a high stock turnover in dog biscuits and you got some old stock. I am pretty sure they will be horrified and make good, but we don't complain enough in these genuine cases. sandokan. when we had a dog it used to eat all sorts of insects she could catch. Foxes and jackals eat beetles as a significant part of their diet.

They are just biscuit beetles nothing to worry about. I have had them in the bottom of a container of doggy biscuits myself. You won't need to worm her they are not worms and if she's anything like mine for snuffling about outside she probably ingests any number of small insects everyday with no harm.
