Strange Evolution In The Preferences
How come so many people like so many of those match 3 games on facebook? I find them very boring, while the complicated and entertaining games that I had as reference have been discontinued or failed in other ways
I liked a lot of games with competitive rankings or with competition like who has the biggest brain, brain buddies, myfriendstats, top words used by you, classifying friends in a list in several categories depending on the data about the toal posts, I mean, lots of interesting unexpected info but match 3? just match 3 and match 3 more? why? why do they like that? And people liked strange apps in the past, this tendency of match 3 apps and basic music apps or very basic apps is like somewhat new
In games i would like rpgs with lots of dialogue, interaction, racings with chats, lots of things with chats, lots of competition, lots of complicated things, I dont see how so many people like match 3 apps or like so many collecting apps like farmville, where you already can predict what will the result be: the more you collect the most points you have and everything is so predictable, you don't even have to train of have a lot of skills. Am I wrong? can you list a lot of things why I am wrong? and maybe I will like the new apps tendencies

Have a read of this: http:// en. wikipedia. org/ wiki/ Cow_ Clicker Social games are designed for single purposes. While it's easy for some to deride computer games in general, it's easy to see how it can be a valid medium of expression/ storytelling when compared to cynically made social games.

I'm not sure why you are concerned about why other people prefer different types of games. If you have decided the games are not enjoyable for you then stick to what you do enjoy or look for a different challenge. Everyone is different and not everyone has the time you may have to engage in more complex /challenging games

Most seem to involve combat to keep the excitement high though. Solvable puzzles and exploration as favourites with me, plus relationship building between characters. But without a bit of gratuitous violence every now and again I'm not sure it retains interest for the whole game. Trouble I find with many RPG types is the need to use the keyboard and especially if you have to crouch by pressing a button at the exact time on the exact spot and so forth. Too distracting and frustrating. Too preventative of immersion into the story. I prefer games where you tell the character where to go, and they work out the boring details. I don't need to try 52 times to jump to a particular height in exactly the right direction before getting killed and having to reload. If I want to bore myself to death I could paint a plank and watch it dry.
