I suddenly stopped some years ago having parties which I enjoyed but thought I needed to knock it on the head since I was of a "certain age".

Since YOLO - "you only live once" - I am thinking of having one in the near future - maybe some time in September when I come back from hol in Cornwall hopefully.

Just wondered - have you stopped partying and why did you????? JJCon

George - was thinking if you have lots of friends - you could provide the music and venue and ask friends to bring a platter.

My parents never ever had parties either. Im very lucky though, ive always had plenty of friends. Im very content x
we stopped having parties, a few years ago, mostly because some guests would never go home, and would get very loud!.....we do however have a few friends round sometimes, but only 2 or 4 at a time, we find that a manageable amount...lol
We're quite a party family, can't imagine anyone stopping parties, my grandmother is in her 70's, my father his 50's and my mother 40's and they all hold parties. As you say Conne YOLO :)
Not really party people, at odd times we have friends around usually 4-6 but not for a party sort of party just a casual get together. I'm off alcohol now for the next 3 months (antihistimines) so I won't be drinking anywhere.
The last time we had a party I had a burn in my carpet, coffee table and the bathroom nearly made me sick. Never again and I'm going back over 30 years.
I have been told I am a party pooper I don't want to join in. I am quite happy sitting in the corner watching everyone make a fool of themselves, I am enjoying this to the best of my ability as long as I have a vodka & sprite in my hand I am happy to sit there all night.
Don't like crowded rooms or loud noise let alone wining and dining folk I don't really like..gave that stuff up when I split from ex...had one nearly every week because of his job but they were quite posh ones and not really me...once had head of mi 5 and her husband to dinner complete with 3 cars with men in black who surrounded the house for the duration...God knows what the neighbours thought !
We used to have house parties that would break all regulations for numbers in one place, loved it.

Since I've been a widow the parties are more just family affairs but am often invited to Birthday bashes etc still like a party.
Minty, you should be resting, I'll tell DTC, apologies Conne
Sibs I'm in bed !
So Minty knows Stella Rimmington (sp)
That's ok, Minty, but I know you're just lying there listening and worrying, been there more hugs
minty. did you mean MFI ? :)
That's the one jeza..although I don't and didn't know her it was again work related with ex
I don't like enough people enough to tolerate them for an evening (especially if I have to feed and water them).
