I do research in chemisty. We have several tens of journals published each month, each with 50-100 papers detailing new work and discovary. Most of it I guess you wouldn't understand (some of it I don't). This applies to most disaplines. Can you be more specific about what you are looking for? New Scentist (as stated above) is a good source and most of the news items in it are very uptodate. Scientific america is another. If you have some science background you could try the journals Science and Nature (two different journals) these have (reputadly) the most ground breaking articles in the field of physical sciences and some other areas too.
If this is school work I should try the newscientist pages above. You might get somewhere with Science and Nature. Many societies have web pages and magazines (members only) you could try the royal society for chemistry at http://www.rsc.org. The institute for physics http://www.iop.org. The institue of materials minerals and mining at http://www.iom3.org. The american chemical society is at http://www.acs.org, the materials research society (american) is at http://www.mrs.org .......... hope this helps. anything on materials/chemisrty post again and I try to find something more specific for you.
