ie, will any stainless steel utensil be ok to use on my induction hob?

Most stainless steel is magnetic it is called ferritic steel, austenitic steel is non magnetic. It has a higher Chromium content.

This explains it better than I can, sibs. I love mine but you have to be careful when buying new cooking utensils. Fortunately, mine came with a whole set of appropriate pans but I now need a small frying pan and it has to be compatible, ie the right kind of stainless steel. Hence, my question.
