the rays of the sun causes damage,
have you noticed looking at the sun outdoors and going somewhere in the shade if takes a minute of two to focus

Probably not........but you can certainly damage the retina, giving you pain and temporary blindness.

Everyone. It's your chance to shine. How hawks etc. have a special film that protects their eyes from the sun.
