A majority win for the Tories is not the only good thing that has come from the election, but also it has shown us the true face of the Left-Wing.

Would the Tories have taken to the streets in such a way had they lost?

/// Among the bohemian Left, with their state-funded salaries and public-sector pensions, the idea that any sane person might vote Conservative, or even hold conservative opinions, is almost unthinkable. ///

/// And while you will rarely hear people saying they ‘hate’ the Labour Party, you certainly hear it about the Conservatives — or, as Left-wing activists like to call them, ‘Tory scum’. ///

/// Its precepts are simple and unchanging. Patriotism is evil. Austerity is wicked. To question mass immigration, to praise the British Empire, even to fly the national flag, is tantamount to racism. ///

/// The state is always benign; private interests are always suspect; individual aspiration is mere selfishness; profit is a dirty word; and there is, of course, no such thing as being too Left-wing. ///

Stop reading the Daily Mail. It's not good for you.
Good post AOG.

We should always keep in mind that extremists are extremists.

The only real difference between the far right and the far left is that those on the far right tend to be less educated than those on the far left (or indeed, everyone to be honest).

By the way, I would suggest that what you're referring to in your question isn't 'the left', but the far left.

I think it's insulting to those who have left of centre views to lump them in with the far left.

I mean, you yourself have right wing views, and you feel insulted when people accuse you of being on the far right, don't you?

Same should apply here.
So this is the United Kingdom that the SNP are trying to break up lol
The basic problem with the left is that they cannot comprehend that anyone has anything other than what they consider to be the "correct" view on any given subject. Their natural defence mechanism is to name call and deride as intelectually inferior. Hence we have the so called left wing intellectuals blaming the voters for not voting the "correct" way, rather than looking closer to home.

You've just got to laugh!
Spare the rod.....

"but also it has shown us the true face of the Left-Wing. "

The SNP are left of center ,no rioting up here tho So there must be more to it
yes steg because they won.
Did they? I thought it was the conservatives that won hmmm
"Did they? I thought it was the conservatives that won hmmm "

Not in Scotland they didn’t, Steg. They barely got a look in. And thereby hangs the tale.

The Scots, for some inexplicable reason, believe they should be treated differently to the rest of the UK. The UK government, for an equally inexplicable reason (but which stems from the ridiculous “devolution” process started by Mr Blair) appears to agree with this proposition.

So, we have the images of Mr Cameron, within a few days of the General Election, hotfooting it on the Virgin Special to have a chat with the Sturgeon woman (not a member of the UK Parliament) to perpetuate and enhance this myth. Of course there are no other matters to take precedence over this. No time to begin the most urgent issue of all facing the new government – the so-called renegotiation of the UK’s relationship with the EU. No time to deal with the invasion of mainland Europe by hundreds of thousands of chancers from Africa. No time to deal with much needed Parliamentary boundary changes urgently needed in England (thwarted for five years by the LibDems). No time to screw up and throw in the bin the abused European Convention on Human Rights. No time for any of this (or any of the other pledges made to the whole of the UK). Instead the priority is to go to Scotland and discuss ways for the Scots (8% of the UK’s population) to have more rights to raise taxes and spend other people’s money (with presumably a bit of time left over to discuss how the bail out from England will work when it all goes pear-shaped).

If any scum (of either persuasion) should take to the streets it is the scum of England who are funding this ridiculous nonsense.

If they had been the Far-Right and the word 'Tory' had been replaced by the word 'Muslim', it would have been a complete different kettle of fish then, wouldn't it?
As AOG points out ...

The freedom to insult and abuse people for their beliefs is evidently a "one way" thing.

"The Scots, for some inexplicable reason, believe they should be treated differently to the rest of the UK."

They don't want to be part of the UK.. Like a lot of English don't want to be part of Europe etc.
Westminster thinks priority is keeping UK together, they have said so on many occasions, up here anyways
Ah well, the Tories have got their priorities right. Fox hunting will be back in the next 12 months!

(Not that it ever really went away).

Or even linked to Scotland, time the English were given a referendum, "Should we sever ties with Scotland"?

Another wasted post, or is it what I presume it is, the fact that you have no argument?
