Prof. Stephen Hawking's Voice
Here is a grand British fellow with a grand British mind. But what is annoying is the damned American voice generated by Intel - with its name splashed across a magic box in front of him. Surely, SURELY, there MUST be a British firm which can master this. If so, why can't one come forward to offer a British voice. If not, why not?

There are plenty of UK voice synthesisers but he doesn't want them, that has been his voice for years and he doesn't want to change, in fact he bought up the remaining units so that he won't have to change when they eventually fail.

I used to work for DIGITAL Computers and the early one was a DECTalk box.
We had one in the office in 1989 and programmed it to sing.
You could set the pitch , sex and other settings to get a voice type.
Used to have fun with it and program it to shout at odd times of day when cleaning crew were in. We knew they hit office at 6am ish
