Converting Pdf To Word
7 Answers
I know the header question has been asked on AB many times before, but I need to convert a 20 page pdf document to a .docx or .doc file. I've tried all the previous recommendations on AB, but they will only convert two pages out of the twenty. I can't do two pages at a time because I can only upload one file every hour - it would take me a minimum of 10 hours!
All the websites recommended previously show a text message about the limit in an identical font, font colour and words which seems to indicate that even though they are accessed on different web addresses, the same service is being used!
I really don't want to go to the expense of buying Adobe for the sake of converting twenty pages as a one-off. I'll probably never need to do it again! There must be an easier way of doing this without splitting my PDF into ten files and doing them one at a time over a ridiculous period!
Could I please have some advice? Thank you.

Is your pdf just text?
If so, can you select the text? Copy and paste it into a new word document.
There may also be an option to export the text - as word or rtf.
It all depends how the pdf was created. If it was created from a document, then there is a good chance of converting it.
If it was converted from scans then each page is effectively an image.
I use this site to convert word to pdf, but it might do pdf to word

Thanks Tuvok. The document is actually a plan of a canal journey that consists of text but also has a blue vertical bar on the LH side of the page from top to bottom that shows locks, bridges etc diagrammatically in the same way as the symbols on an OS map.
I can paste the text into a Word document but not the bar. I need the bar on each page. The whole thing has been taken from an online canal journey planning website and I've got no idea how it was created. It's not simply a question of printing it straight off the web as I need to modify the document to fit in with the time I've allocated for the trip.
I've tried the website you suggest and it's done the job but for some reason the conversion has removed spaces between some words and stuck some pairs of letters together in about half the words on the pages. Still, it seems to be editable as a .docx file so I'll spend a bit of time sorting it out.
Many thanks for your help!
