Has anyone taken the time to go outside and look skywards today? It's a beautiful day here in north Wiltshire. There are clouds, but they're very high and wispy, some of them have fascinating shapes, I think they're Cirrus clouds, althought I'm no expert.

Cirrus fibratus wiltsman otherwise known as Mare's Tails. The sky in N Wales had a lovely formation of them this morning whilst we were gardening. " She who must be obeyed" and I actually sat and talked about them as being a sign of good weather for a few days at least, and I threw in the comment 'my Mother's father called them Mares Tails'.

Here in N. Yorks it is a cloudless day, and as good as my eyesight is I am afraid I cannot see the ones in Wiltshire.
I must admit I enjoy cloud gazing, especially from the comfort of a sun lounger with a chilled glass of wine to hand :-)
I've looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down, and still somehow, it's cloud illusions I recall; I really don't know clouds at all.
Wow Geezer - you should turn those words into a song!!!

Best way to enjoy the clouds Mrs O.

I think Jodi Mitchell beat you to those lyrics in 1967 O.G! Well spotted Andy.
Mrs Overall, when I first started to read your message, I thought you meant New York! (N York's).....
When I was about 6 my 9-year-old sister who knew everything, so I thought, pointed to a cloud and said, 'They can see that same cloud in Mexico'.
So how come you can't see the clouds in Wiltshire, MrsO?
psst, it was sung by Judy Collins, not Joni Mitchell
Lol, I wish I was in New York!

Sweaty, I can't see the clouds in Wiltshire because I am indoors! Doh!
Joni Mitchell, MrsO. Collins borrowed it.
'Doh' is a bit rich coming from someone who doesn't know the first thing about football....
Or popular music....
Collins had the hit with it.

Don't you start shoota!

Courtesy of Wikipedia: "Both Sides, Now" is a song by Joni Mitchell, and one of her best-known songs. First recorded by Judy Collins in 1967, it subsequently appeared on Mitchell's 1969 album
Is that the sea I see in the bottom of your photo, shoota?
Lovely isn't it Wiltsman-where do you live, I'm just outside Melksham.
No Svejk, that was taken well inland, over a farm in Deux Sevres.
