Good Morning Early Birds!

Sunday. Outside is bit weird this morning. Out the back the full moon is so bright t's almost like daylight. Out the front is pitch black! Never seen it like this before.
On the canal today, in the Visitor Centre, I go to pick up my oppo and his wife from Yate first. They are treating me to dinner in a pub near their home on the way back. It's their way of saying thank you for doing the sixty odd miles to pick them up. They couldn't go if I didn't. They don't have to, I enjoy their company.
Other friends coming to me for dinner tomorrow, complete with snowflake. More fun. :o}
Have a happy day everyone.

It's been good but quite humbling tbh. We had am amazing day trip yesterday with just 11 of us. Mini bus picked us up. We went on boat down the Delta which is incredible and where The Africa. I'll be visiting our usual Sunday 'regular' this evening, to join my fellow crossword-solvers. It's not a particularly great pub but it's the best we could find after Wetherspoon's closed our old 'regular'. I don't like the other two Wetherspoon's pubs in the town - and one of those is closing too soon anyway, so we've had to find a pub in central Ipswich which is open on a Sunday evening (most aren't), where I can walk from the station easily and the two other guys can get buses stopping nearby. That doesn't leave much! (The Greene King pub we use is an architectural gem, as it's an old theatre, but it simply seems to lack any real atmosphere).

Queen(Humphrey Bogart) was really filmed, saw turtles, had fresh fish cooked for lunch, swam in sea, saw ancient rock tombs. Tour host was amazing and at the end he stood up on bus and said he wanted to thank us all on behalf of Turkey for visiting here and trusting them. Said how they have had 40% less tourists than last year and how they are all struggling and this means a lot when people still come. Tried to make light for a second by saying I'm sure some of you have annoying neighbours too! But we knew what he meant. Really lovely people
