I'm having a wardrobe built along a wall in my spare room....mostly to tidy away all my craft stuff....it'll be about nine feet long and facing a large sunny window.
Unusually for me, I'm dithering about the doors and was wondering should I settle for mirrored doors....
Will they be a faff to clean...look streaky.....or look to cold and stark? I'm not fussed about making the room look larger.....I just want it to look tidier than it does with all my stuff on open shelving....
Do you have doors like this and do you regret it or are you happy?
Mirrors are there to reflect light and make the room look larger primarily. If you're not bothered about either, don't have them as I'm pretty sure they will be more expensive.
I have a huge mirrored wardrobe. It doesn't look cold because it reflects the rest of the room; it makes the room much lighter; it doesn't get streaky or fingerprinty.
Yes, I have them. Yes, I'd have them again. No, not difficult to clean (quick wipe with a damp microfibre cloth)....if in a sunny room, I'd go for a slight tint..mine have a slight bronze tint.
We've got 14 feet of mirrored doors, they make the room look bigger and brighter. Clean them with a Karcher window vac (well, Mr U does!).
If you do them by hand it can take all day, with the Karcher (other makes are available) takes about 30 minutes.
They just need a metal frame, gness - then it's easy to slide them without touching the glass.
The worst wardrobe I ever had featured 'high-gloss' black, frameless sliding doors - they were a nightmare as you had to touch the shininess every time you opened them :(
EEK CUPID !!
I have mirrored sliding wardrobes with slight grey tint in back room....no big deal with fingerprints..I chop his off when he makes a mess !! simples xx
