How deep does a puddle have to be to be classed as a puddle and not a pool? Is there an international standard for the size of a puddle? Width versus depth? Help!!!

Just ask any 5-year-old!
Pools are things which have enough water in them so that you can have fun whether you lie in them, sit in them, paddle in them or whatever. Puddles are things which have got so little water that you can only have fun by jumping in them!

According to the anchient tale of Dr Foster - a puddle may go right up to you middle, wich on me is about 1m deep. with regard to tempory/perminant arguments, there are plenty of lakes in Africa wich are seasonal, does this make them puddles?

But how else do those seasonal lakes get filled? And what about our resouviors (spl?) puddles which arn't full enough?
My good friend Anna Beetle told me yesterday that what is a puddle to me is a pool to her.
