What Kind Of Spider Is This?/is It A Brown Recluse?
2 Answers
Slightly bigger than a quarter, rump is tan-ish, mostly brown, and it retreats to the hole behind it if frightened or disturbed. It's web is very strong and the spider is living in the clean out space of my chimney, which is dark when the little metal door is closed. Copy the stuff below and paste it in a browser to see the image. Please zoom in to get a better look. I'd REALLY like to know what kind of spider this is.

The file location you've provided relates to where the image is on your own computer. If you want us to see it, you'll need to upload it to the web first:
Go here:
http:// upl.co/
Click the green button.
Navigate to the location of your file and double-click on it.
When you see a thumbnail of your picture, ignore the links which are alongside it.
Instead, click on the thumbnail to make the image bigger.
Then click on that bigger image to make your picture fill the screen.
Copy the address of that web page (by right-clicking on it and selecting 'Copy).
Come back to this thread, right click in your new post and select 'Paste'
However your reference to 'slightly bigger than a quarter' suggests you're in the USA. This website is based in the UK where we don't have quarters and, far more importantly, we don't have many of the spiders encountered in the USA. So there might not be anyone here who can recognise it.
Doing things the other way around though, perhaps you can compare your eight-legged friend with this image?
