Why will the water levels rise if the ice melts

If ice floats because it displaces more water than it weighs why do they say the water levels will rise if the ice melts? Is the North pole floating? Because if it is will take up less space if it melts. Even if there is other types of ice thats a lot of extra space surely?

There is hardly any change in water level if floating ice melts. Sea level will rise when land-based ice melts.
