Worcester Tank Making A Noise On And Off All Night
13 Answers
My Worcester Tank in the airing cupboard has suddenly started making a noise on and off all night( the noise is like after you flush a toilet and the cistern is filling up). It is waking me up in the night. Can anyone tell me why it is doing this? Thanks in advance.

However if the boiler has a water pressure(bar) inlet and gauge showing current status it may be worth checking that. Usually entails attaching a little armoured(metal) pipe about 8ins long to the mains inlet and boiler to pressurise the system.
Kettling(noisy boiler) can be caused by a variety of things. If it is a sealed system the top up pressure option is likely. Being a new boiler means it is unlikely to be limescale build up or sludge. It could however be a faulty stat or a pump failure or even a boiler that is too large for the system. If it has only been in for 3 months get the heating engineer back in, it must have a warranty.
Found this Galaxy. Worth a read particularly the last paragraph.

Hmmm just thinking about the ""making a noise on and off all night( the noise is like after you flush a toilet and the cistern is filling up)."" part of you question. Does your water pressure rise at night perhaps(our does) caught me out once when the loo overflow only used to run in the dead of night.
