I have a trilby hat that is a bit too tight. I’ve asked around and no one knows anywhere I can have it done. So, please, can anyone suggest seriously, how I can do it at home? Many thanks, Bramley.
Heat up the tea kettle or pot of water until the water begins to boil. Hold the hat's brim to get a good grip. ... Remove the hat from the heat for 30 seconds. ... Turn on the hairdryer to its highest setting. ... Once it's mildly damp, wear the hat and let it air dry to stretch into the right size for your head.

Thank you Rockrose. It’s an old Austrian hat actually and rather than throw it away I thought I’d have it enlarged - it’s not too small really. So your suggestion is worth a punt! Thank you.
