I will, just for the fact that this time next week the days will be getting longer again. What's not to like?
Couple of beautiful pictures here.

Yes, as always I'll be running naked through the bracken though swerving the gorse, even though it's just a little prick.

Thanks for the pictures, ladybirder. They were all interesting. I shan't be celebrating the winter solstice, but I shall certainly be pleased when the days begin to lengthen.

As a dog owner who suffers from SAD, the winter solstice is a significant event!
LOL, dooogie! Watch out for the tics!
Mind you don't get caught by the fuzz.
I always look forward to getting past the shortest day of the year
SAD bit has hit me over the last few days
sun seeking to try to ward it off

problem is - - the SAD lag is such that I fell better around middle Jan....ho hum I cd be dead I suppose
I'm expecting a solstice grandbaby but I don't suppose we'll be visiting for quite some time now
Night vigil sunset to sunrise, welcome the New sun, sacrifice a goat, read the entrails and no waste make a curry with the leftovers.... Joking about the goat
^'Kidding', surely^ :-P

Me too Barry.
Mid Jan soon be here pp. You know how the days go more quickly the older we get.
I became a GGmother end Nov jno and yet to meet her. Loads of pics though. She's gorgeous.

No !
Yes, in a way... I love the lighter evenings. Glad we will soon be going the right way :-)
LB, Ted is 8 months old now so still a puppy. Keeping him entertained and exercised in these dark days is hard work. But he’s turning into a great dog, so all worthwhile.
Oh yes...I look forward to it every year. More so this year as I...we...need a fresh start. And spring always represents that. Any excuse for a glass of red... ;)
The Winter Solstice is always most welcome.

This year we can look out for the rare Christmas Star.

lol ladybirder, I got a photo yesterday of d-i-l squeezing into a lift but that's as far as we've got. Hopefully they'll at least be back home by the 25th. (She needs a c-section so the date is more or less fixed.)
Are you able to show a photo, zacs? He has socks, doesn't he?
Only if you have an uninterrupted view of the eastern horizon sadly as it will be low in the sky
Luckily I live near to the east coast Rowan and if I stand on tip toe I might catch a glimpse!
