One of the young men in my flats took my dog out yesterday afternoon which he has done a few times before. Forty minutes later I get a call from him telling me he had my boy off lead and he went into the undergrowth, as usual. The difference was this time he had rolled in human excrement and it was gooey and stuck all over his harness and collar and him. We tried to get some of it off him outside which was very little so had to bring him into my bathroom. We were both heaving and in fact I'm still heaving talking about it. The shower water was running brown off him for ages and yet even when it ran clear the stinking stuff was still in the clips of his harness and collar. It was obvious they had to come off but meant I had to put my hands in it. Which I did it.., heave! They are still in the bucket outside (not my hands). I stank of it, the walker stank of it, the dog stank of it and the flat stank of it. I could truly murder the filthy swine that did. Phew!
No question, just feel a bit better for putting it on here.

I KNOW I shouldn't chuckle but your description was funny. That doesn't detract from the horror of it for you. of course!!! I can understand a human needing to "go" asap (homeless or even someone with IBS etc) but...surely they'd try dig a hole to bury it? Even if they didn't have a spade most people (I like to assume!) would grab a stick in dig a hole Yuck just...

I'm still heaving just reading this!
How utterly filthy of that person,I'd put it on your residence page if you have one LB
How do you know it was human?? Could have been another dog.
probably a german shepherd . . . or his dog
I think there's a 'distinct' difference!
Fox poo is worse and dogs love it
It is disgusting...very. But at least whoever did it was trying to hide it, or do it where walkers wouldn't step in it. Maybe they got caught out...or were a homeless person.
Do you have any enzyme cleaner for pet stains? Give the lead and harness a good spray.
I use one called envii...its on Amazon.
This should be in the 'Hilarious' section!
It sounds like a Benny Hill sketch.
I'm just wondering if you can buy a new harness and collar or maybe that isn't an option
Gross!!

I'd give pooch a few more washes just to be sure its all off him and buy a new lead. Bleach the bath down as well.

It was human, easy tell the difference. I can actually deal with fox poo, I don't like it but this was 100 times worse.
Bobbi I may put it on Next Door.
Poor dog. He looked so put out. He doesn't like being bathed at all and certainly not for a half-hour. It took us from 3.40pm until 5.25pm to sort him out. Afterwards he never moved for 4 hours just lay quietly in his bed with his eyes following my every move bless him. I have 3 other collars and 2 spare harnesses so I could throw the dirty ones away. Still have to go into the bucket to get his dog tag off as it's got all our details on it. Yuk!

Pasta they may not have been trying to hide it, just not wanting to do it in public.
Barry fox poo is perfume next to this gagging stuff.
Tigger I made jolly sure every bit was off don't doubt that. He sleeps with me so I made absolutely sure. And even then I shampooed him again;-)). Oh and bath is being removed tomorrow anyway as I am having a shower room put in. At least my dog timed that right.
I can't be the only adult who has inexplicably and without warning had to 'go'. It is happened to me only once but it was the most humiliating event in my life. Thankfully I was in my own back garden, tried to make it to the loo and didn't even get to the back door. Horrible.
Maybe whoever was responsible had a similar experience and didn't do it on purpose
Question Author
Whether it was done on purpose or not Barry doesn't alter our experience. Poor dogwalker was mortified.
I live in an area where people wild camp. If it only ever happens to you once you are lucky.
I know people sometimes camp in the nearby park. No toilets open after 5-7 or so...so they must go in the bushes. Something I'd rather not think of...
People get just as mad when they and their kids end up stepping in dog poo. Not nice at all.
Question Author
The last thing I felt was lucky woofy. My age and health, gasping for breath, made the whole thing a nightmare.
Question Author
I have friends and family who go camping. They take a spade with them.
Question Author
Yes teacake, it's disgusting for the child and parent but a bit of dog poo on a shoe is nothing compared to what happened yesterday. I know, I have children, I have experienced both.
