Still in hospital. Had a lucky escape. Been treated with, amongst other things, a tight fitting face mask blowing pressured air and oxygen, literally breathing for me.
Very uncomfortable. But, a lifesaver!
Am just having some respite from it for a few hours.f

My sympathies - as a severe aponea sufferer, I have to wear one of those every night, it's horrible, but better than the alternative - a potential heart attack in my sleep.

Why does it 'need to go', when there is some basis for it. We are, to some extent, controlled by our hormones. Which is why there are stereotypes of what males and females *should* be. That is not to say women can't be competitive or aggressive, and men gentle or emotional. Just be you, whatever that is.
As a female I'm happy to fit that archetype, as I like those characteristics in me.

Mamya - // Didn't know you were on oxygen too Andy. //
To be clear, my mask does not pump additional oxygen, but it does pump air at speed into my nose and mouth through a close face-mask which is a really unpleasant sensation, and it means I have to actually force myself to go to sleep, instead of simply falling asleep naturally, as I would without the mask on.

kath - By definition, I don't think any archetype that insists that anyone 'must be' anything.
By definition, an archetype is a cultural adjective that has grown into notice through a number of individuals exhibiting the same set of behaviours.
That is organic cultural development, it is not consciously created, or decided by anyone, it simply grows naturally, and if the archetype ceases to be a common factor, it will disappear over time,
