Replacement For Gazebo Apex

We've got an Ikea Karlso gazebo. Unfortunately, the connector for the top of the apex is missing.

Cannot get a spare from Ikea. All the other spares from other outlets are for round poles or are for 4/5/6 poles. Whereas this thing is rectangular tubes and there are 8 of them.

Any ideas as to how we can make this thing work, please? I really only need to use it twice this year (for a couple of parties) so I dont think it is worth buying a new one.

BM, a connector with 8 square holes is going to take some making. I can only suggest, as an alternative, jamming 8 pieces of timber into the holes, and screwing them all together. A right bodge, I know, but it saves a whole lot of engineering... ;o)

I'm no help but my late mother used to say that a Hammer, Superglue and Parcel Tape can fix most things, and she was never wrong about anything (or so she said).

I shall suggest that to Mr BM. That actually seems like the best fix since without the top bit the thing is jiggered anyway!

I shall be sticking something in my ears so I don't hear all the sweary words coming from the man cave and just apply cake and vodka when necessary.
