Does Anyone Know Of Successful Ear-Plugs Or Headphones For All-Night Use (Every Night)?

I have to be attached to an Automatic Dialysis Machine for about 9 hours per night. Apart from getting tangled in the tubing, the other big issue is the noise the machine makes. I have found that I can stop the noise several times for up to an hour if I’m awake at the right stages in the cycle but this itself is disruptive to getting a decent night’s sleep.

Long-haul flights usually hand out ear-plugs to help you sleep your way to Singapore or wherever, but I could never get these to stay in my ears.

Comfortable earphones would be great if they resisted coming off but are there no ear-plugs that can just be inserted into the ear and then stay in place?

Any help would be gratefully received before lack of sleep turns me into some kind of zombie.

There are lots of reviews for earplugs but maybe none are ideal. Would it be possible to muffle the noise at source with some sort of padded containment?

I find wax earplugs much easier to use than the silicon-type ones the airlines give you.

They are quite expensive, but you might be able to find a discount code online. Also, since the UK is no longer part of the EU VAT framework, UK residents have to pay around £50 VAT and import duty, on top of the purchase price, before the Post Office will deliver them.

Once you have worked out how to get them inserted properly, and fitted the correct foam bud sizes, you can sleep with them in all night in near-total silence, no matter what the exterior noise is like.

The batteries last more than a full night (they claim three nights), so no chance of them running out at 3 in the morning.

You can even sleep on your side, resting on the side of your head, with the right pillow (quite a soft one works well for me)

Google for memory foam ear plugs. With a bit of practice you can roll them into a spike and push them well in. They then expand and are pretty effective at deadening the sounds.

I have very noisy neighbours I've tried different ones but these work wonderfully.

My missus tends to snore sometimes and I'm a very light sleeper, so the slightest noise and I'm awake.
When I'm wearing these, there have been occasions in the past where my missus is nudging me in the morning, 'cos my alarm is going off and I can't hear it.

A few tips if you buy any of the foam ear plugs:
Squash them down before you put them in your ear and then push them in as far as you safely can - this way the foam expands back to its original size/shape and completely fills your ear.
When you remove the ear plugs, pull them out slowly using the cord. I've pulled them out too quickly in the past and ended up snapping the cord.
It says they're only "one use" but I re-use them probably for a few weeks. You'll know when they need changing as they tend to go a bit soft and are not as good as keeping the noise out.

If you shop around, you should hopefully find them cheaper - I tend to try and pay £20 in total for a box of 100. I recently missed out on a chance of buying a box of 400 for approx £58.00 (they would have lasted me for aaaaages) ..... you snooze, you lose :(

QuietOn's publicity has at least persuaded me to give their solution a try. I found a 10% code & live in Spain, so don't have the (im)perfect rules of Brexit to contend with. If I don't like them, I can send them back within 30 days.
