I am shocked too, although I am surprised that I'm shocked.

I used to listen to him a lot, at one particular time in my life ... I can remember that I was listening when the Challenger space shuttle blew up, for example.

R.I.P. Steve Wright

I listened to him whilst sitting in our college common room.

so sad

RIP thanks for the memories

RIP Steve and thanks for so many memories

That is sad.  I liked him when I was driving 'in the afternoon'.

Omg.. What a shock!

I thought a lot of Steve. He was so funny and played good music.

I have heard of him and knew he was a DJ but never listened to the BBC except the shipping forecast. No doubt Andy Hughes will soon enlighten us.

Steve wasn't one of my favourite DJs but 69 is far too young to leave us. RIP, Steve. Keep on jocking.

We listened to his Valentine show on Sunday. What a shame he's gone.

It seems very sudden.

Very sad indeed.

I interviewed him when he was on Radio One, and he was charming.

Wonderful broadcasters which is why the BBC ditched him -  fact they seem to be forgetting in their pious condolences.

he was good and very witty, liked the character mr angry from purley...r.i.p

He was still presenting his Sunday Love Songs on Radio 2 on Sunday, Andy.

Thank you, Fib

'Get the duck off' and other gems. He knew how to play the game.

A loss to radio.

I am so sorry.  He's someone I really liked and admired.  Steve Wright in the Afternoon was essetial listening for me, and Sunday Love Songs.  I never knew what he  looked like.  I've been looking at photos.  He looks as nice as he sounded.  RIP Steve, a radio legend.
