We have a couple of battery wall clocks. They run for ages with a single AA battery, but we do have to manually adjust them twice a year when the clocks go back/forward. All these sort of clocks use the same mechanism, so if you buy a more expensive one all you're really paying for is an attractive appearance. (I am referring to clocks starting from about five or six quid upwards).
You shouldn't go for a mains power-supply clock unless money is no object, as you'd need an electrician to do the wiring and it might not even be allowed in a bathroom.
A battery won't hurt you.
Clocks that are automatically synchronized to a time code transmitted by a radio transmitter, will need to be sited carefully to ensure they get the radio signal. The one in my kitchen always needs intervention when changing between GMT and BST. The others elsewhere in the house are ok.
Why wouldn't one want to know the time when in the bathroom ?
