Hope we are all ok? We got a light covering everywhere of snow at about 10pm lastnight, but overnight it seems we've also had some drizzle as only half is left, but its bloomin nippy!
Last of my house guests left yesterday (middle son & family). As much as I love them my house looked like it had been hit by a tornado! Am pretty sure when all of my kids were little I didn't cover ever possible surface with anything humanely possible, from empty drinks bottles, cups, glasses, (both reading and drinking, toys, keys, loose change......... I could go on all day. .... anyway they got home safely and said they had a great time x
So what's everyone's plans on this chilly day?

Good Morning Smow and others, I'm sure also that when I was a youngster I didn't cover ever possible surface with anything humanely possible, from empty drinks bottles, cups, glasses, (both reading and drinking), toys, keys, loose change.....
I do now though 😀
Shopping planned if it stops raining, got friends coming for light lunch tomorrow.
Good morning, it is 13 degrees but raining here, so will be a day indoors. Can always find something that needs doing.
Never had kids, but have been at friends when daughter and granddaughter are there, could not cope with that on a regular basis.
Hope your back held up for the visit and the pain has now eased
Good morning all, snow here but not as much as last night when everything was white. I think the mizzly rain is washing it away, but it will be lethal if it freezes tonight. Supposed to be going round to a friends for a catch-up natter and coffee, but I don't fancy driving so am going to cancel. Intend to stay inside all day and have a good clean of the lounge as I packed all the xmas decorations away yesterday.
Enjoy the day everyone.
Morning Canary & Cloverjo..... was talking about the kids to MrSmow after they had all finally gone home. Him & I are very different - both in 50's but he is a very calm, placid person & im more of a live wire lol. But we both said the same about the little ones & their behaviour. My son & his partner seemed to over praise the daftest of things to the point I thought it was ridiculous. But in a really hyper way. Hard to explain. But say the 4 yr old said he'd been to the loo they started praising him as tho he'd done something mind blowing! It was quite odd. They did it with the 2 yr old as well.
Morning all. It snowed overnight but the roads are passable but its a stayput day.
I don't have grandchildren and memories of my two when they were little are patchy. I suppose I was too busy doing rather than storing memories, which is a shame. My two were very different, younger son was more layed (sp) back than his brother, but that was probably down to lack of experience with my first. I don't remember them being hyperactive though and of course we had child proofed everything, which as grandparents you probably get out of the habit of. Doesn't time whizz by, there are certainly things I would do differently'
Stay warm folks
Smow, your comments about children and grandchildren sounds exactly like what my brother says. He also feels the little terrors are spoiled and not disciplined enough... and he himself was not an overly strict parent.
Maybe it's age and less patience.
No grandchildren for me either...and my daughter was described by other children's mums as hyper and a handful. Yet I don't recall her being like that.
