//French police closed train traffic to and from Paris Gare du Nord station on Friday after an unexploded World War II bomb was found on tracks leading to the terminal, train companies reported.

The bomb was found on the tracks during overnight works, train line RER B posted on X. Media said the discovery was made in the area of Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris.

The Eurostar and all other trains were halted as police worked to disable the device.//

Found on the tracks?  Why hasn't it been spotted in the past 80 years?

Surely has to be of Putin's agents, pretending to be an asylum seeker, who must have put it there overnight.  Did they also drag an anchor over the signal cables too ?

"On the tracks" can mean anywhere between one boundary fence and the other (in the UK the equivalent term is "on or about the line"). plus without knowing exactly what works were being done when the bomb was discovered (possibly drain clearing or maintenance, or digging a new under-track conduit for signalling cables), it would be difficult to speculate why it's taken 80 years to come to light.

Not very clear reporting I think, it does mention found during 'works'.

Sky News says:

The bomb was discovered at around 4am by workers moving earth near the tracks in the Saint-Denis area, north of central Paris.

It was found as workmen were moving earth so it must have been buried rather than being, "on" the tracks.

Yes, that makes more sense.

What nationality is the bomb?  Can it be repatriated?

I'm very glad I am not an explosives expert going to make it safe. Heaven knows what has deteriorated in the 80 years.

I hope it's made safe and doesn't go kablooey with loss of life.

Islamisation is what has happened to this area apparently.
