New plug needed

The plug on my broadband router has broken. On it, it says output is 15VAC 1A. I assume this means 15 volts AC, 1 amp. It's just I thought most appliances like this ran off DC... don't want to fry it!

are you talking about the power supply?
The thing that has a plug that you put in a wall socket, then a wire, then a box that gets warm when working, then another wire and plug that goes to your router ... ?

I would check the manual that came with the router to see what power input it needs.


Some appliances do run on low current AC, external modems and laptops are quite common.
