I have been told by a "reliable source" that when urine is mixed with bleach it creates a chemical reaction, which is very dangerous if inhaled. Is this true?

i once peed on some sort of cleaning block in a urinal where i work it must have produced some sort of gas cus it made my eyes sting and water and also made my throat sore

I'm intrigued as to who gave you this piece of advice!
It wasn't your hairdresser was it?
I guess it's the very fact that your hairdresser might feel it necessary to inform you of the danger concerns me lol

Bleach plus ammonia (found in urine) releases chlorine gas, which is toxic.

However, the stuff they clean toilets with (and urinals) in public toilets doesn't contain the stuff that produces chlorine gas, so you're ok.
Dave Pelzer (A Child Named It) was once locked in a bathroom by his mother and made to clean it with a solution of bleach and ammonia (it was deliberate and he was around seven or eight at the time). The resulting chlorine fumes almost killed him.
