and the distance travelled is d
so 12 must equal d times the .01/16
so d is 12 x 16 x 100, iew 19200
o god I hate imperial measure, which is about 6500 yards or 3 miles

Basically all i want is a rough idea, the reason being if i miss my target how far will the pellet travel befor it drops. i realise the weight of the pellet etc is going to have a bearing on this but i dont know what they weigh yet but i will find out.

pellet =14.5 grains
muzzle velocity 600 fps.
Target 1metre off of the ground = .44 seconds to fall 1metre ( sqrt(x/5) where x is the number of metres high)
So it will travel 264 feet

However air resistance will slow the pellet so it's travelling slower than 600fps when it passes the target

The 0.22 weapons lose about a 1/4 velocity at 100 yards, heavier too I'd guess you'd lose over half the velocity at that sort of distance say 100 feet
