Star Gazing / meeting people
18 Answers
I am in my 30s and am getting really really boring, all my friends are either married, kids, moved on etc and I am still single. Anyway, I also do not have any hobbies or interests and am trying to find some clubs or something that isn't too sad to join. I have always been really interested in the stars / sky and often sit and stare at the sky at night for hours. Does anyone know of a group / club in the surrey area that I could join and basically star gaze? Failing that anyone know of any other ways of making new mates / getting a boyfriend etc I am a bit on the shy side until I know someone. Thanks :-)

Have no social life at work but outside it is ok but my other single friend and I never seem to meet any nice men! My friend tried internet dating and met a few people on there but never really followed it up and wasnt attracted to any of the guys she met! Anyone she does meet on a night out she psycho texts if they do not get in touch, which we all joke about but it is a serious problem.
Best way to meet new people would be to join a club, perhaps do a nightcourse somewhere.
My friend bought me a book "how to find a husband after 30" , Rachel Greenwald. I havent fully read yet but it actually says that in order to find a man you should go where men go........or adapt your life slightly to find them ?!?!? like go the the gym, or enrol in a course where men usually go!
Also, whereever you go use this as an opportunity to meet men etc. even the supermarket - make random conversation with men, just for practice!
i think i will start to read that book - it seems as if I need help too

oh he wasnt nasty (although he isnt the nicest person i have spoken to before, very sarcastic) - it was just after i sent my pic he send me an email (cant even remember what it said) but it was like sorry no thanks - i thought cheers. He did make me feel a bit :-( but thats life eh - cant pull every guy (plus he was older than i usually go for). Just would have been nice if he had been a bit friendlier.
Pity it hadnt of been you i mailed Mr Robbo ha ha :-) xx

Some men/boys have no idea how to let people down gently! Not all men/boys of course. There is this guy that likes me but I do not like him. I get on with him and think he is very funny but at the end of the day us girls need a bit of eye candy too! It is true though, what people say, there is someone for everybody out there!! And that goes for you single men/boys!!
SurreyGirl remember this:
Apples and Wine
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy.
The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing.
They just have to wait for the right person to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh*t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
