Carpal tunnel syndrom
3 Answers
My sister suffered badly during her last pregnancy due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
She is in early stages of pregnancy now and again is starting to suffer from this.
Has basically been told there is nothing that can be done except wearing a kind of strapping.
Does anyone know anything that will help?

Can't vouch for the info first-hand because I was lucky enough not to get it (despite turning into the Michelin man - couldn't wear my wedding ring for 3 months!)

This problem runs in my wife's maternal family's side. She has had an operation carried out on both hands and is absolutely fine now after both went progressively bad with the symptoms. It is a very simple operation and her mother also had it. If in your sister's case it is purely pregnancy-related then an operation may not be justified by the NHS, but I suggest she discuss this with her GP, especially if it ever returns outside pregnancy.
I had it for 4 years I'm male and have never been pregnant
I've been through all the electronic nerve tests velcro gloves will steel bits in them etc all rubbish, the operation can leave a nasty scar im told
I went to a chiropractor who explaned it can come from the neck a couple of visits a quick twist here and there and it was gone
