A level maths grading

To pass Maths at AS level, is a pass required in all 3 units (Pure, stats and mechanics), or can you get a pass if you narrowly fail 1 of the units but get high scores in the other 2 units?

Say you got an A in the first bit and a B in the next bit, you should get a low pass even though you failed the rest. My boyfriend did the same with history, so I know it is possible. Either that or you could just resit that bit....
