following on from a programme on TV last night... is it really possible for twins to have different fathers?!

The programme implied that fraternal (non-identical) twins are produced by two separate sperms reaching two separate eggs and that the sperm could therefore come from two separate ejaculations. I think I heard them then say that 1 in 400 sets of fraternal twins have different fathers.. can this really be true or did I hear wrong?

Before anyone starts calling their lawyers maybe its also possible for a couple to have many organisms over a short period to produce multiple births.
organisms? Good grief.

sorry - first ever mis-spellig post I've ever done and I know I'm not very good at them.....
My post above was very flippant - sorry.

I used to babysit a pair of fraternal twins who very much had the same parents. She resembled her black mum, with the same eyes, skin and hair, and he was blue eyed, white skinned and brown/blonde.

Sorry should be orgasm. My sight and hand/eye coordination are failing me.
I wonder why Kwicky? ;)
