How many litres of petrol or diesel can be refined from one barrel (159 litres) of crude oil? Is it more (due to other additives), or less?

The amount of petrol refined from a 159 litre barrel of oil is approximately 75 litres. The actual amount depends on the source of the oil, some giving a little more, some less, and on the efficiency of the refinery.

Thanks. Do you know what happens to the remainder? Is it used for other products, eg plastics?
