fire has been about forever and the first chimp that ever morphed into a bloke would have been wandering around scratching his hairy chimp-man arse and 'doing the windmill' when he would have seen lightning belt a tree or something, so basically he discovered it and was bored one day so rubbed two sticks together and thought, 'christ, i can make this stuff too, mint', when his little twigs exploded into a blaze in his hairy lap, hahaha, i would have laughed if i could have seen that, oh god i would have, and then the first chimp-man that was clever enough to just one day, you know, build a fully functioning house, would have maybe been the first person to see a house burn down cos he was rubbing two sticks together in his living room or something, hairy idiot...
Nah, it happened in Pompeii the day the volcano erupted.
It was the day Mrs Lurcio went indoors after hanging her husband trousers on the line to dry.
The volcano erupted, the lava flowed and Mrs Lurcio looked on in horror as her husband's best keks burst into flames.
The trouble was she was unable to tell anyone as she was soon engulfed by the lava herself. Statues can't talk after all.
