I got mine today and I know it will take time but I do find them strange. I am ok for the distance but feel like a nodding dog trying to focus for reading. For anyone who has them, how long does it take to get used to them? I am going for contact lenses on Monday but would like to feel comfortable with these before attempting the contact lenses. Thanks
I think I look like Churchill the nodding dog.
Paddywak. A week seems a long way off. They are giving me a headache at the moment but I will persevere. Still feel like I am looking through a window. They also have transition lenses and with the bit of sun we had today I was able to test them out and they worked perfectly.
They do take a while maggie ..but do persevere . I have had varifocals now for a number of years. I find them much better than bifocals . When I first tried them my optician told me that it takes about three weeks to get used to them.I am very short sighted and made one mistake with them and that was to think I could get away with a smaller narrower fashionable frame ....not practical for me at all.So had to go for a larger frame .But I am very happy with them and would never go back to bifocals or juggling two pairs of specs again.
Mine are quite small frames. The optician said they were large enough for the verifocals. I have tried putting my bi-focals back on to rest my eyes but even after this short time, they are awfull. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will have got used to these and be wearing my contacts. Can't wait for those.
