red diesel?

just been watching tv and some people use chemicals to take the dye out of red deisel???

what chemical would they use and would it cause problems the vehicle?

i fully understand the implacations regarding the law and hm customs and excise,i have no desire to do this at all............... but it amazes me how people could get the colour out???

we used it in the Army, trust me, it works but you need to keep a partly used bottle in your boot in case the old bill stop you!!

If you mix 1 litre of engine oil to 50 litres of red diesel it takes the colour out of it...so i`ve been told anyway

A mate of mine used to fill up with red when we were running on the continent. A mate of his gave him a 'chemical' which you put about a pint of it into 300 litres of diesel and it would take the colour out, though if you did an analysis of the diesel you could find the dye was still there, but I have no idea what the 'chemical' was.
