Recycling plastic
4 Answers
Does anyone know if there really is a way of recycling plastic food trays, wrappers, packaging etc. other than putting it in the bin to go to landfill? Some previous questions and answers refer to plastic recycling banks or centres but I've never seen one. Are they just disposal points or can plastic really be recycled? I've yet to hear any advice about this from a Local Authority.

I now pay for a recycling company to come to me to collect, they will accept all plastic, cardboard, paper etc even telephone books.
It costs about 1.50 a bag but the bags are huge.
I would suggest a search on the internet to see if there is a company in yuor area.

Thank you spudqueen and Ebbs. You've more or less confirmed my suspicions. Plastic goods, except bottles, are a real re-cycling problem. I wonder what's different about bottles that they can be re-cycled but not other plastics. Hopefully someone will eventually come up with a way of re-using all of it. Thanks again.
