In a group of these metals and nonmetals Bromine, Cardon, Chlorine, Copper, Iron, Mercury, Nickel, Selenium and Sulphur which substances would be ''difficult to group''. I was thinking mercury being a liquid metal and cardon being a non metal which conducts electricity. Would you include any others? Nothing to heavy as its only year 7, thanks

How about Carbon

Graphite conducts electricity but diamond does not.

Selenium is also a funny one it is a non metal but conducts electricity but better when illuminated than in the dark.

If you find them on the periodic table

The more to the left the more metalic, the more to the right the more non metalic

Cu, Fe, Hg and Ni are definitely metals and Cl and S are definitely non-metals. C and Se are difficult to group as they have properties of metals and non-metals.
