If a molecule of CO2 is made of O with a valency of 2 then the valency of C must be 4, is that right?
If it is, how is CO held together? How is the valency, satisfied, if that is the correct term?

In CO there is a triple bond, with oxygen contributing 4 electrons and carbon contributing 2 electrons
