How can I measure the miscibility of two liquids? I am a student and don't have much access to high-tech equipment.
Thanks!

I don't use high tech gadgets, simply a bottle and the water and olive oil. Give it a thoroughly rigorous (very unscientific) shake and time the separation a few times. You can draw lines on the bottle and time the unmixing to certain points as well but this just gilds the lily a bit. It seems to be a robust belt and braces method.
I'll hang in on the thread because I would like to hear any other methods. Good question, what is your use?
