If you want to impress your teacher tell him or her that it is a poor question ...
1) For a current to flow in the conductor it must experience a changing magnetic field ... by moving, or the magnetic field's source moving, or the magnetic field's strength changing. Simply cutting it is not enough.
2) "Generate current" is poor English ... "a current is generated in the conductor", "a current is induced in the conductor", or "a current flows in the conductor" are all improvements.
