What REALLY scares YOU?

I was out walking on the moors at the wkend, we'd trecked off the beaten track to discover a different way back, the moor looked lovely but when on it, the terrain was tough, damp and very difficult to walk on. We had a great view and In the distance we could see unusual cloud formations with streams to ground, we presumed it was rain, it looked good so I got my phone out to take a photo. The image in the viewfinder when suddenly a massive flash and a hugh roar of thunder, I didn't get the photo but looked to my left and a grey thunder clouds we're almost above us. This was one of the most scariest experiences of my life. Having always had an irrational fear of being struck by lightening my worst fear was being realised. We two people the tallest things on the highest ground, no trees, nothing except us on a vast expanse of marshy moorland with a lightening storm almost above us. I was petrified, the terrain was so bad it was impossible to run without twisting ankles, I couldn't see myself lying down in the wet ground as I would still have been the most prominent object so kind of ran crouching and scrambling and falling, on all fours heading in the direction of the blue sky. This was one of my scariest moments. The clouds in the distance I discover today were funnel clouds (tornado). It was such a beautiful day, a beautiful place, I was in paradise one moment and hell the next. This made me ill for two days and I didn't even get wet. So I wonder what really scares YOU?

I am not worried about my future as it is not in my hands more than just trying for the better. Result is not in my control so why fear.
Emotionally, my fear would be not to have anyone to speak to.
Physically, I once at the age of about 16 experienced an earthquake in the middle of the night, the build up to the earth quake really scared me, seconds before the restless noises ( I wouldnt call it chirp) of the birds from the tree outside, the grinding sound coming out of the ground, and then all those shaking of windows, fan above my head swirling, and my bed moved from one place to another. I think that was the scariest so far. In the morning every one was saying, Lucky to be alive. Or are we?

thanks lajohn. the earthquake sounds so scary keyplus, bed u didn't know what was happening, nature can't be reckoned with like the creditors of debts, or sprayed with fly killer.
Another of my fears is having an aeroplane crash into my house. At one time I thought this too was going to happen with a seriously low fyling mod jet craft. The noise was so intense no idea of direction, i thought my no. was up. Again there was no where to run, front door, back door like a headless chicken. It was severe & investigated by our mp but denied by the ministry. I only developed these fears after having children. Maybe they'll go away now I've had the near misses. My neighbour is petrified of cats?
