I bought a new toilet seat a month or two ago with long plastic screw type fittings that secure it to the pan. One of the screws has broke and the seat is moving all over the place and I wonder where I may be able to buy a similar part from somewhere? I don't want to have to buy another toilet seat if I can purchase one simple screw. I do know however that if and when I do purchase a toilet seat again it will have metal hinges/ fittings! Thanks in advance

you can buy replacement screws and hinges for toilet seats at most diy stores. have a look in the plumbing section.
i wouldent recomend getting metal hinges & fittings as if your not a top marksman they tend to discolour or go rusty.
yeah - and then it looks just like Bob Staines...
If you have your receipt, return the entire thing to the store and get a replacement.

If that's a fag - and it probably is, I replaced out seat afew months ago, then the previous advice will be fine.
I got my toilet seat fixings from http://www.toilidfix.co.uk and they worked fine.
