Handles on a bath

I have bought a new bath and I want to add handles to the inside. Can I? Some say yes some say no. I dont want it to support loads of weight just help balance with getting in and out.

Perhaps a suction safety grip type of handle would be sufficient. I have two and find them quite satisfactory so far. Here is an example from Argos but many suppliers have them these days:
