Loss of water in Black Sea

I was in Bulgaria on holiday and the Black Sea waterline has dropped by about 12 inches.The area of the sea is 168.495 square mile.
Is there a formula to very roughly work out how much water has been lost from this inland sea?

you will need the depth of the area aswell. but this will be variable so prolly the easiest thing to do is get the average depth.

Yes, go with Pigletion's answer- the new surface area is unlikely to be significantly different from the previous surface area. Would you want the answer in litres ?
If you want to know the percentage loss then you'd need more info on the previous volume

168.495 sq miles x 5280 x5280 will give you the loss in cubic feet (given that your 1 foot reduction is accurate). 1 cu ft of water weighs 62.4 lbs and a gallon weighs 10lb so the loss amounts to around 29.3 billion gallons (thousand million).
