what does it mean. i have a new maths teacher and he was talking so quicly that i couldnt understand him and i didnt have time to talk to him at the end of the lesson. but he said you use it to work out equations of lines on a graph but all we did in the lesson was work it out the easy way and he said you didn't need this equation for what we are doing but its useful. but useful for what?

x= (-b�(√(b�-4ac))/2a
The a, b and c relate to the coefficients a and b and the constant c for an equation in the form ax� + bx + c
